Felicity Joan Edwards was born in 1923 in Balham in South London. She was the first of four children of Harry and Phyllis Edwards. During the Second World War she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (now the Women’s Royal Army Corps). In 1946, Harry Edwards with his sister Ivy, and his family moved to Burrows Lea, a large house in Surrey where Harry Edwards developed a centre for spiritual healing.

In 1948 Felicity married Paul Medland and they had four sons between 1950 and 1960. Following divorce in the 1970s she became a landscape painter and original needlepoint artist. She has published a series of autobiographical books, A Slice of Life (1997), Life Around my Father Harry Edwards (2007) and Aspects of Life in Balham (2003).

She is now 98 years old and lives with two of her sons in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.
