Bluebells Cancer Support Group

Have you been affected by cancer?

Here at Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary we run a friendly, sharing support group for anyone affected by cancer.

Bluebells coffee mornings are held on the first Thursday of each month from 11am until 1pm.

Come for a chat and a cuppa. You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to but meeting with people going through similar experiences can help you fell less isolated. Sharing hints & tips can help you feel more connected and it helps to be part of a caring, supportive group.

We honour the presence and dignity and value the contribution of every participant in this safe haven and more importantly we listen.

Why not come by and see for yourself? You can drop in anytime between 11am & 1pm and stay as long as you like.

While you are here you are welcome to use our library, join us for meditation and relaxation sessions or have some counselling.

We also have a Whatsapp chat group and a fortnightly Zoom meeting if you can’t reach the Sanctuary.

Wherever you are, we’re here for you

“I came to Bluebells over five years ago and have found it a relaxing and welcoming place where I can just be myself, sharing my thoughts and feelings whether good or bad and learning from other people as we all talk about our cancer experiences. I have cried a little, laughed a lot and met a lot of people that I enjoy seeing time and again. The meditation is sometimes the only time of peace I get during the week and is very welcome. The shared knowledge in the room is sometimes overwhelming - we could create our own encyclopaedia on how to survive against the odds - and I enjoy both adding to it and learning from it. I would recommend the group to anyone living with cancer, whether newly diagnosed or an old hand at it all.”

The Sanctuary is in touch with Penny Brohn UK and we are very impressed by the resources on their website, which you may also find helpful. Do visit their website https://www.pennybrohn.org.uk/find-help/online-services/ for more information about their online group sessions. These cover topics such as nutrition, resilience, wellbeing, movement and exercise. There is also a self care section that provides access to webinars and recipes.
